"Ain't Got Nobody" is the first track on Everything Will Be Alright in the End.

The liner notes for Everything Will Be Alright in the End groups songs by one of three themes. "Ain't Got Nobody" is grouped under the category "Belladonna" (songs about Cuomo's relationships with women). The spoken audio at the beginning of the song seems to present the song as the "first big hit" of the fictional band The Astronauts (a stand-in for Weezer themselves, who are represented in the album's promotional materials and meta-narrative). A small excerpt of the song (alongside an excerpt of the song "Flight Plans") was first heard in a promotional video (teaser #1) uploaded to Weezer's YouTube channel on March 19, 2014. A longer excerpt, featuring the title of the song first appeared in another YouTube video (teaser #8) uploaded on June 4th:

Shortly after the album's release, a version of the album was leaked online featuring only instrumental tracks. On February 26, 2015, Rivers Cuomo uploaded a clip of himself in the process of writing the melody to "Ain't Got Nobody" on the piano. In December 2017, an early mix of the album was leaked.

Demo (voice note)

"I had another nightmare!"
"Go back to sleep, honey. Everything will be alright in the end."
"I'm going to L.A."
"All the girls love you."
"I'm proud of you, son."
"How does he do it? It's so simple."
"Look, rock is dead. Guitars are dead."
"In the "Where Are They Now?" category: The Astronauts, with their first big hit..."

Ain't got nobody
Ain't got nobody
Ain't got no one to really love me
Ain't got nobody
Ain't got nobody
Ain't got no one to kiss and hug me

I've been so patient
All around the nation
There ain't no one in all creation

I'm living all alone
Nobody at home
It's hard to fall asleep
I really start to freak

My daddy loved me
No one could touch me
Until he went up and left me lonely
That's human nature
We fail each other
Then keep on searching for another

I thought I had a friend
But she was just pretend
She didn't have a soul
Nothing I could hold

Someone I could greet
When I come home from work
Someone who would smile
And take away the hurt

Could you be the one to really love me?
