Overview
"3 Chains of Gold" is a song first demoed by Rivers Cuomo between 2016 and 2017. A brief demo was included with the digital compilation Alone XIII: The Pacific Daydream Years in 2021. A later demo of "3 Chains of Gold" was among thirty songs (narrowed down from about 100) selected by Cuomo and producer Klas Åhlund in September of 2023 in contention for Weezer's planned twentieth album.[1][2][3][4] In November of 2023 the song was renamed to "Big in Japan."[4][5]
