Biography

In the 1990s, Hager was a member of the bands The Elevator Drops and Backstroke to Cuba. In 1999, while living in Boston, Rivers Cuomo recommended Hager to former Weezer bassist Matt Sharp. Hager subsequently joined the Rentals as a touring guitarist. Hager continued to tour on Sharp's solo tours over the next few years, during which the group covered Hager's song "WAR IS OVER...again". Hager also performed guitar and piano on Sharp's albums, Puckett's Versus the Country Boy in 2003 and Matt Sharp in 2004. Hager is also credited as a producer and engineer on those releases.

Since 2014, Hager has performed as a member of the rock band Devo. He is also a founding member of the band ShadowParty.
