weezer Happy 15th birthday to The Red Album! After sessions in 2007-8, starting at Ric Rubin’s Shangri-La studio and continuing at the MPAC multipurpose facility in Malibu, ‘weezer’ (red) was released this day in 2008.

Following that came the ‘Hootenannies’ where large groups of fans joined the band to play an acoustic set! This continued as the encore portion of the Troublemaker arena tour. Meanwhile the “Pork And Beans” video was shot, with the help of virtually all the original “pre iphone/Tiktok” class of YouTube viral stars joining in.

It was the launch of a new era for weezer, and brought classics including “The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived” into their arsenal. And lets not forget the Deluxe Edition bonus tracks, and the seemingly never ending Webisode series! #karlscorner
