Overview

"Tell Me What I Want" was originally demoed in 2002. Cuomo later revisited the original demo in 2008. The original demo and the 2008 edit were released in 2020 as part of the digital demo compilations Alone VIII: The Maladroit Years and Alone IX: The Make Believe Years, respectively (although the filename for the latter indicates it was edited in 2008, suggesting its inclusion on Alone IX is an error).

Lyrics

Sick inside my heart and stomach too
Poisoned by the things I shouldn't do
Weariness is now my closest friend
Was there a time when life was pure?
I can't recall that anymore
What was it like to be a new baby?

Once I have a taste of any fruits
I can never change the things I do
Choices leave their marks along my skin
Look at me now, I'm wearing thin
So much it takes to feel again
Can I regain my innocent touch?

Tell me what I want now
Tell me what I need now
Tell me what I want this time

Once I have a taste of any fruits
I can never change the things I do
Choices leave their marks along my skin
Look at me now, I'm wearing thin
So much it takes to feel again
Can I regain my innocent touch?

Tell me what I want now
Tell me what I need now
Tell me what I want this time
