Overview
"Break Free" was written by Rivers Cuomo, Scott Murphy, David Hall Hodges & Steve McMorran in 2009,[1] while Weezer were working on their next album Hurley. It was briefly considered for Hurley, appearing on a January 2010 tracklist picked by then-manager Dan Field.[2] It would be recorded for Scott & Rivers' first album with the members of Weezer as the backing band, though it's unknown if this was a repurposed Weezer recording or done specifically for the album.

Lyrics
I gotta break free
Highway
I gotta break free
And the road is stretching
On and on in front of me
I gotta break free
