"So Much Talk" is the fifth track from What Else Can We Do, the 1992 debut album by Wax. The song was covered by Weezer the same year.

Overview

Listed under the title "Conversationalist" in the Weezer Recording History, "So Much Talk" was covered by Weezer during the band's first tour in August of 1992. Karl Koch recorded these shows, but these recordings have never been released. According to Koch, Weezer's version omitted the original's first two verses and chorus, picking up about halfway through Wax's album version. It was otherwise "a fairly straight cover," and, when played live, it "usually disintegrated after about 2-3 minutes of raucous repetition (sort of like the original)."[3].

Yeah

Do you hear the sounds of boredom
Just listen to any conversation
You better watch your back
In these times, now
You better know ??? your destination

Hey what's your name
We want to talk (woah, oh, oh, oh)
Cuz there's no time we'll take a walk
It's a big a machine
And you're a part
Don't think too quick
??? once you start

Yeah

This girl like knives
And you' ain't got no protection
Your insides out
In no direction

Hey what's your name
We want to talk (woah, oh, oh, oh)
Can we have some time
Can we take a walk
Who can we trust
Where does it go
When does it end
Nobody knows

And I hear nothing now

Conversationalist
Wasting my time
Well I hear nothing now
And I know why

Conversationalist
Wasting my time
And I hear nothing now
And I know why
And I know why

Yeah

Well I hear nothing now

Conversationalist
Wasting my time
I hear nothing now
And I know why

Conversationalist
Wasting my time
And I hear nothing now
And I know why

And I know why
And I know why
And I know why
And I know why

I know why
And I know why
And I know why
And I know why

Conversationalist
Wasting my time
Conversationalist
Just wasting my time
Just wasting my time

Conversationalist
Just wasting my time
