"Porcupine" (Also known as "Spend Some Time" and "I Wanna Be With You" or "I Want to Be With You") is an unreleased song by Weezer

Overview

"Porcupine" is first known to have been demoed, under the title "I Wanna Be With You" at Cello Studios in November of 2001 during pre-production on Maladroit. The song was worked on several times during the album's proper studio sessions beginning in December 2001. Six in-progress recordings of the song from these sessions were uploaded to weezer.com during the album's production, though the song did not make the cut.

The song is not to be confused with the 2004 demo, "I Wanna' Be with You".

Lyrics

C'mon, c'mon and tell me, girl
Did you believe it’s true?
When I was here and waiting, girl
When I was here with you

All the blood starts pumping
Can’t you see?
Yeah

Get out, get out and get some sun
‘Cause you be turning pale
Now that you see I’m in your face
Blacker than blackest shale

All the blood starts pumping
Can’t you see?

It’s a long, long, time
Since we fell behind
If you’d spend some time with me
I wanna be with you
