...MB '05 Tour: Day 121: "Perfect Situation" video shoot, day 1 of 2 - Downtown Los Angeles
Video day! Yet another rough day schedule-wise, with brutal call times for the crew and a nasty one for the band. Then it was a 14 hour all day schedule, and that was just the first day of 2. But if the playbacks are any indication at all, it will hopefully all be worth the effort! The director Mark Webb is a really cool guy who really knows his stuff. Iv'e not seen such efficient and effective directing in a long time. He and the production crew he assembled were a real pleasure to work with, and for a long 2 day shoot, it was relatively painless. The shoot happened at the old Palace Theater in downtown L.A., on Spring Street. This Palace is on the Register of Historic Places, and isn't an active theater, but is generally rented out and dressed up for various movie, tv, video, and advertising shoots. The production company transformed nearly every nook and cranny into the various sets needed for the video, including the grand main stage.

We're not going to go into the details of what the video is about, but you'll find some info in this Mtv.com article that appeared today, and we can confirm the news that there is a guest star in the video, one Elisha Cuthbert, perhaps best known for her role on the TV series "24". Another guest appearence is by a person who's work you are pretty familiar with...

Also guest starring were some real weezer fans. Thanks to all who answered our online "casting call", there were many hundreds of applicants in only one day, and the producers had their pick in assemblng a killer 'show audience' and groups of wild fans. The die hard weez-folk seemed a little outnumbered by 'regular folks' on day one, mixed into a crowd of extras who as it turns out were usually weezer converts by the end of the day anyway! We would find that on day 2 many more 'true believers' were called down to help out. THANKS SO MUCH again, to all who applied and helped out both days!
