On this day in 1997, Weezer played in Milwaukee, WI at the Rave Hall, one of the several concert venues in the massive Rave/Eagle's Ballroom complex, with Nerf Herder opening. On this day, the Weezer Fanclub leaders Mykel and Carli flew in from Portland, joining the band for 2 nights and doing special fan meet-ups. The weather was brutally cold and snowy, but the shows were crazy and fun. Tonight the band played Pinkerton b-side "Devotion" live for the first time. Fan Bryan F. wrote years later: "...My friends and I got there quite a few hours early and we had nowhere to go. We ended up sneaking in the venue (the doors were UNLOCKED because of soundcheck). We ordered a pizza, it came, and minutes later Weezer arrived! Pat asked me, "Is that pizza for us?" I said "no" I'm an idiot. Then Nerf Herder showed up in a van and started carrying stuff in. I asked if I could help and they said yes. I carried some road cases in and stood right on the side of the stage as WEEZER WAS SOUNDCHECKING!! I heard them play Devotion! It was awesome. BUT THE BEST PART IS STILL COMING. One of my friends named Jeremy was a friend of Mykel and Carli and had set it up where we had back stage passes! After the show, we kicked it with Mykel and Carli, they were wonderful and sweet and awesome, God rest their souls. Then Rivers, Brian, and Pat came out..."
