Private Message is a song appearing on the Album 5 Demos. It has been worked into a The Relationship demo called Hand to Hold. It was one of the first post-Maladroit Weezer songs to be posted, being released before Maladroit was even in stores. Already, the band was showing a clear departure from the Maladroit sound.
Fans have speculated that the opening lines are taken from the much older Weezer demo "You Won't Get With Me Tonight."
