...I've recieved word of two upcoming Weezer "Green Album" Pre-Release Listening Parties in the S.F. Bay area. Both are at very cool indie record shops, and at both you can purchase the new CD in advance (you pick it up upon its official release on the 15th), and by doing so you get a bunch of cool stuff for free. Here's the details...

May 4th - Rasputin Music, 2401 Telegraph (@ Channing), Berkeley, CA; 5:00pm - 6:00pm
details: listen to the album in its entirety, enter to win an autographed framed poster, and if you pre-purchase the cd, you'll receive a weezer goody bag filled with music and other promotional items.

May 5th - Streetlight Records, 980 South Bascome Ave., San Jose, CA, 12:00pm - 1:30pm
details: listen to the album in its entirety, enter to win an autographed framed poster, and if you pre-purchase the cd, you'll receive a weezer goody bag filled with music and other promotional items.

...another fan's Coachella report:

I attended the Coachella Festival yesterday, and Weezer was the best part of the entire day!!! Sometimes it really stinks to be short. All of the really tall people seem to always stand right in front of me. Oh well. There was also a naked man standing 2 ft. away from me that was quite distracting. One of those things where you know you shouldn't be looking, but you just can't help it. Anyway, loved all of the new songs I heard and can't wait for the new album's release. "Island in the Sun" was one of my faves. Oh yes, and the glorious glowsticks that went flying towards the stage. Did any of them make it there? Was anyone hit? Hope not. -Michelle Nakata
