Excellent Stocking Stuffer is a compilation of demos, outtakes, live versions, and other oddities that was available through the Rentals' fan club in 2001.[citation needed] It is widely spread digitally online through message boards and PTP networks. Additionally, many MP3s of the recordings were made available to fans on mattsharp.net beginning as early as June 2003.[1]

As the tracks were taken from a wide variety of sources, the sound quality varies accordingly.
