"Kvasha is to the Islanders what Rivers Cuomo is to Weezer" ---John Buccigross, during todays NHL2Night Islanders vs. Bruins game review on ESPN2

...today was a solid studio recording day. at this writing, no word as to what was worked on yet.

...well the whisperings were right! The new billboard modern rock radio chart came out and sure enough, "Dope Nose" jumped 5 spots, and is now at #14! Again, thanks to your requests and enthusiasm!

...now, here's the NME.com review of weezer's gig at the Manchester Apollo a few weeks ago. This is quite a nice review, particularly coming from the NME who havent always graced the weez with such favorable press in the past. Anyway, it looks like someone there finally saw a show they liked.

...once again, CNN Headline News (which happens to be the only channel I ever seem to watch) has weezer news in their sidebar! "Weezer's new album: Weezer's 4th album, "Maladroit" hits stores May 14." was how it read on the screen, in odd contrast to all the troubling news going on in the world right now. Could Rudi Bakhtiar and Chuck Roberts be weezer fans?

...heres a cool letter we got today: "...my dad's stunt company is going to be a part of the ["Dope Nose" video] production. Just to let you know-these guys they'll be working with are great...Raleigh and the guys will take real good care of the band of course...I won't be around during that time but just want to say how rad I think it is that my family's doing you guys' video...." ---Melanie

...The members of Weezer are prominently featured in a new book called "MOUTHING OFF - A Book of Rock & Roll Quotes". The book features a back cover endorsement from Pat Wilson, a full page weezer concert photo, and a number of funny and truthful observations from the band over the years. (As well as plenty of photos and quotes from all sorts of rock, punk and indie artists). Compiled by Rolling Stone/Billboard contributor John D. Luerssen, "MOUTHING OFF" hits book and record stores in June. Those who can't wait can purchase it early online at major book e-tailers. (Note: it's cheapest on Amazon.)

...cell phone people: right now at yourmobile.com, "Hash Pipe" is April's Ringtone of the Month!

...a few days ago I linked to the website of one half of the team responsible for several recent weez t-shirt designs. i neglected to also link to the other creators site, so in the interest of fairness (and exposing some cool artwork) here is Vito's art
